An Aurora family is hoping the community will help their 10-year-old daughter who lives with epilepsy.
McKenna Birka will go to middle school next year and she hopes a service dog will help give her freedom to live a little easier.
McKenna has several seizures a week. A service dog would be trained to warn her before a seizure, make sure she’s safe and alert others.
Now that she’s getting older, McKenna hopes it will give her and her family the confidence to do more on her own.
