From her seat in her wheelchair, Jessica Bello tried to sneak a peek at a giant check with her name on it.
When members of the Bluffton Township Fire District turned the check so it faced the 12-year-old, her mouth fell open. Jessica saw the district’s 10th Annual Boston Butts Fundraiser had raised $19,000 to help her family pay medical bills and other expenses related to her spinal muscular atrophy and epilepsy.
