In Sierra’s Words – Sierra

My name is Sierra. I’m a brain tumor survivor. I lived with epilepsy and seizures for 8 years until my brain tumor was removed. Throughout schooling, I was bullied following my brain tumor removal surgery. I was scared, insecure and felt like part of my brain went missing. I dealt with this until graduation. A quick message of encouragement, I got held back in 1st grade due to my seizures and epilepsy. However, I was able to graduate high school 6 months early and catch up with my classmates! I’m now 24 years old and seizure free! I’m currently in a training program and do work. I love to travel and hope to continue to spread awareness and share my story to others. At the end of the day, I want to encourage everyone to not let your disability define you and don’t be afraid to share you story because it can be helpful/inspiring for others going through the same thing.

I’ve written a book about my journey “Weird Girl With a Brain Tumor” if you would like to read more and purchase a copy via Amazon. Also visit me on YouTube!
