For the Goodnow family, life hasn’t been easy over the last few years. Their 3-year-old son, Hunter, was born with a spinal cord defect, known as Spina Bifida inutero, and was later diagnosed with epilepsy.
Through all of this, he has went through surgeries and dealt with seizures. It all started back in October of 2013.
“We had no idea what was going on at all. We got up at 6 a.m. and he was having stroke like symptoms and that’s the first thing that came to mind. We took him to the ER thinking he was having a stroke, but it turns out that he has partial complex seizures, where it is a seizure that is only in one-half of your brain,” said Jessica Goodnow, Hunter’s mother.
Hunter has had three seizures so far, but all of them are sporadic, which makes it even scarier. February 2, 2015 was one of those days and it was a morning that would be any mothers worst nightmare.
