It made him move back home to Hickory. It’s why the nurses at the local hospitals know his name. And it’s the reason he spent his Friday morning talking to a class of teenagers at Fred T. Foard High School.
“Epilepsy changed my life and I’m not afraid to say it — it changed my life and made me value what I have,” Raymond Mitchell told about 50 students gathered in the school’s media center.
The condition has dominated the last 15 years of his life.
