A Fife police chief inspector has raised £745 by setting an unofficial world indoor rowing record during the Commonwealth Games.
Ross Bennet, who worked at Police HQ in Glenrothes until recently, took part in the event with 213 officers and staff from Police Scotland.
They were supported in the Emirates Arena at Scotstoun Sports Campus in Glasgow by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
As a result of his massive effort Ross (43) raised £745 for charities close to his heart – the children’s football team Cairneyhill Athletic and Epilepsy Scotland – and beat the prvious record set by 191 people.
