Dear (Fill in recipients name), Epilepsy is a neurological disorder in which an individual experiences seizures, which are caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. These seizures can cause involuntary changes in body movement, function, sensation awareness and behavior.
According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, there are many kinds of seizures which can last from a few seconds to a few minutes.
Epilepsy can be caused by various factors, including head trauma, stroke brain tumors, infection, inherited conditions or problems during fetal development. For many people affected by epilepsy, however, there is no single identifiable cause.
The month of November is dedicated to promoting public awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and to highlight the need for further research. We must recognize the seriousness of this disorder and ensure that individuals with epilepsy are treated with respect.
At this time, I would like to ask you to support those affected by epilepsy and the many health care professionals who provide invaluable care. We can make a difference in the lives of millions right here in America and all over the world!
