A boy injured in a car crash while in utero more than a decade ago has been awarded $400,000 in damages after a judge found it likely his profound disabilities were caused by the accident.
Halima Zraika was 25 weeks pregnant when the car she and her husband were travelling in collided with a vehicle driven by Rebecca Jane Walsh at Villawood in November 2002.
Her son Sharif was born four months later with profound disabilities and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a severe intellectual disability and epilepsy.
