A woman who came round from a seizure to find two jeering boys filming her has completed six endurance races to raise awareness of the condition.
Maggie O’Connor, 26, had been walking her dog, Dillion, through St Botolph’s Priory, in Colchester, when she began having a seizure, causing her to wet herself and bite her tongue and cheek.
But when she came to, the two boys were filming her on their mobile phones.
On Saturday, she completed the last of the six Spartan Endurance races – despite a dislocated knee – a feat she hopes will raise the profile of epilepsy.
Maggie,
Keep up the good things spreading HOPE Helping Other People with Epilepsy! I too do everything I can to do good things for people doing battle with Epilepsy after I got lucky becoming seizure free 3 yrs ago having brain surgery at Tampa General. I had a 9 yr battle with Partial Complex Seizures and over medication The first doctors just threw drugs at me and turned me into a mess! I had over the next 7 yrs a up and down battle several car accidents lost my ability to drive and work finally before moving back in with my parents at age 49! Then I got lucky meeting the right doctor at the right time, who finally treated me correctly studied me EEG ect and found me to be perfect one for surgery! I then became seizure free! I now do my best to help other people, ride my bike hard 15-17 miles in an hour when the weather cooperates or indoors on a bike rack in the cold or rain days. You keep up the good work and know you are not alone!
