It was the day Carla Marshall has dreamed of – for her terminally ill son to give her away at her wedding day.
And that day came true as the 19-year-old walked down the aisle with her little boy.
Carla, from Wolverhampton, and her boyfriend Kyle Matthews, 22, had mixed emotions as they took part in a mock-up wedding yesterday(fri).
Friends, family and donors had rallied round to make the ceremony a reality because her two-year-old son D’shawn has been given less than six months to live.
Carla, wanted him to see her ‘get married’, before he loses his battle with several health problems. D’shawn suffers from epilepsy, brain damage, microcephaly, delayed development and partial sight. He cannot walk, talk, hold his head up or even grasp toys, and has to be tube fed.
