Harrison Ford is to auction off his iconic Han Solo costume to help a medical center treating his daughter find a cure for epilepsy.
The “Star Wars” hero has become synonymous with the brown jacket he has donned for the movie franchise, including a leather version he wore for the latest installment – “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Now Harrison, 73, has revealed the jacket is up for grabs at an upcoming auction, with proceeds going to the New York University’s Langone Center.
My favorite Star Wars character! I’d love to bid on the costume, but it’ll probably be out of reach for me…
On the other hand, I DO have all 15 of Dave Dorman’s personal copies of the Star Wars Trilogy limited edition lithographs (Rolling Thunder) that he signed as artists proofs AND his final preliminary pencil art for “Heroes of the Alliance”. Iconic art that everyone should recognize!
I will be considering auctioning them off now that I’ve just retired. (Something that I never thought would happen in the 60+ years that I’ve had epilepsy!)
I am not adverse to the idea that at least part of the proceeds could benefit an appropriate non profit organization…
