A memorial concert, held in honor of beloved local music teacher Marie Cherry, has raised almost £2,000 for charity.
The mom-of-two, from Dickens Heath, tragically passed away in the spring of 2013 from SUDEP–sudden death in epilepsy.
Marie had only developed the condition when she was 31 and was coping well until the evening of April 23.
She had returned home from work complaining of feeling tired. Marie later had a seizure and died.
“Marie was my beautiful wife, a young lady of 37 enjoying life to the full,” said husband Chris on Epilepsy Research UK’s website. “Then all of a sudden she was gone. The loss of Marie is so immense, and there is a huge hole in our family and a space that will never be filled within me.”
To commemorate her life, and love of music, Chris, sister Kay Salisbury and friend Fiona Harrison arranged Marie’s Memorial Concert, on what would have been her 39th birthday.
