The second fundraising tournament of the year for Clark County Archery will raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation.
The tournament is open to the archery community and is sanctioned by the National Archery in the Schools Program. Dee Birkes, assistant coach for George Rogers Clark Archery, said children from throughout Kentucky will compete.
“In NASP, there are certain criteria. They use a certain bow and arrow, and it’s just for kids,” he said. “If they want to join the program as a team or as individuals, they can. If their team is not coming, (they can) come shoot as an individual.”
He also said this tournament is unique for the team.
“There’s usually one tournament we throw every year to support our programs,” Birkes said. “ But this year, we had a situation where we could have the gym and have two tournaments. We decided to do this for epilepsy.”
