A Christchurch schoolgirl who was a CureKids ambassador has lost her battle with epilepsy.
Cashmere High School principal Mark Wilson sent a statement to parents on Friday afternoon, informing them of Abbey Leeson’s death.
The year 10 student had battled severe epilepsy since she was a baby, but over recent years her seizures became less frequent.
“We understand from her parents that she passed away peacefully at home after a serious seizure,” Wilson’s statement said.
My heart goes out to the family.
Epilepsy is something that needs alot more attention.
