A charity which raises money to support children with epilepsy has joined this year’s Wish campaign.
Abbie’s Love was set up by Coulby Newham parents Richard and Tracy Clarke after their 10-year-old daughter Abbie passed away in 2006 in her sleep from sudden unexpected death in epilepsy.
Since being set up in Abbie’s memory, the charity has raised more than £250,000 which has gone towards raising awareness of the condition as well as supporting research, diagnosis and treatment for epilepsy.
Having entered The Gazette’s Wish campaign every year since it began, the charity has used the money it received to buy potentially lifesaving bed alarms that can alert family or friends when someone has a seizure.
